Megalos Kampos is located at Marathopolis of Messinia.
Marathopolis (or Marathos) is a fishing village on the west coast of the prefecture of Messinia and belongs to the municipality of Trifylia. In summer the population of the village is greatly increased as the area has a strong tourist influx.

The village of Marathos is famous for its fish restaurants, and in summer it attracts people from all the neighboring regions of Messinia. Opposite the village is the isle of Proti. A short day cruise to the Proti Isle will travel you the indefinite past of legends.
Around the village of Marathopolis will find beautiful sandy pristine beaches, to enjoy the most refreshing of your swims.
North of Marathopoli (2 km) is the magical beach Lagouvardos (attracts surfers), on the south (3.5 km) the beach Agia Sotiro and a little further (2 km) is the popular beach Mati.
Isle of Proti with the monastery of Panagia Gorgopigi. According to tradition, the icon kept there was found at the shore of the island. The natural terrain of the isle is very interesting. On the island, which was the base for pirates, there are remains of ancient fortifications and ancient inscriptions on rocks (at the location "Grammeno").
Marathos is conveniently located inbetween several places of interest. Amongst the most popular places in the south there is the town of Pylos, south west the famous city of Kalamata and at the north only 1,5hrs drive the Archaia Olimpia, the birthplace of the ancient Olympic games.
